Sure, but literally any competent policy will pay for itself directly or indirectly. There’s a clear opportunity cost for using government money to pay rich corporations rather than common people, especially in a time where regular people very much needed that money.

Bush bailed out the banks, but it was Obama who bailed out the auto industry. Now these were in the tens of billions range rather than hundreds of billions, but it’s worth noting that the government actually lost money on those.

Trump’s two worst sins, helping Saudi Arabia bomb/starve Yemen and helping Israel genocide Gaza, are both shared with Democratic presidents. The difference in terms of being an evil piece of shit is really not as large as you seem to imply, or you could start by addressing my counterarguments. Okay? They made a bunch of claims and I disproved some of them. I never pretended to be addressing all their bullet points, nor do I need to do that for my point to stand. The half I ignored was also pretty much a rounding error compared to the shit all three pieces of shit did in their terms, morally speaking.

All the fucking corporate bailouts at the end of his term, such as the $1 Billion bailout for Black Stone? His support of Israeli Zionism and their apartheid of Palestine? Reneging on closing Guantanamo? His aid to the Saudis in their campaign against Yemen? How about all the tax breaks for the rich he signed off on in 09? And that’s not even scratching the surface.
Like holy fuck, open your eyes and quit missing the forest for the trees. Both parties are still in service of capitalist imperialism. Both parties are still your enemy even if one is more your enemy than the other.
Democrats haven’t done anything meaningful to stop him.

They kind of are, by painting them as the exact same and not noting the very real differences between them you are in a sense defending the Republican party.
Especially in the context of this conversation.
That’s not to say that the political system doesn’t deserve a level of scrutiny, it most definitely does but the hard reality is that there’s no reform that doesn’t come with participating in it on some level.
I think what weakens the case is that we’ve had a lot of progressive Democrats that have demonstrated real change and to ignore that is not just defending the Republican party but deminishing the very real work by people who want that change.

Democrats aren’t the white knights. They haven’t swept in to fix things. Whenever they’re in power they refuse to move the needle far enough to fix the damage done by Republicans. Look at Obama and Biden; they continued most of the same horrible practices as the Republicans have done.
Republicans are evil and monstrous. Democrats are okay and lack the spine to actually make the change the people want. They’re not the same, but neither is really reflective of the will of the people because the only people they (political parties) listen to are people with money.
